Kaikai Relishing His Time At Cambridge United

Sierra Leone and Crystal Palace youngster, Sullay Kaikai, is enjoying his time with Cambridge United.

According to Cambridge News online, the 19-year-old has lit up the R. Costings Abbey Stadium, as well as several away grounds, during his loan spell at Cambridge United this season.

The youngster has determination in bucket loads to add to his tricky feet and lightning pace, with that desire to succeed earning him his big chance with the Eagles in the first place.

Kaikai had a brief spell on loan with Crawley in Sky Bet League One last season, before his career got a major boost last September when he scored on his debut for Palace against Newcastle in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Now the Sierra Leonean is relishing the chance to show what he can do on a regular basis in Sky Bet League Two, and he feels he is taking real strides under the guidance of head coach Richard Money.

“At Crawley I didn’t get enough experience, which was a shame, but this loan has been completely different and I feel like I’m developing, which is good,” said Kaikai, who said his Palace team-mate Kwesi Appiah, who returned to the Abbey for his second loan spell at the start of this season, was an influence on him coming to the Abbey.

“The manager has given me confidence to express myself as well, so that helps.”

One of Kaikai’s two goals for the U’s was the winner in the FA Cup second round replay at Mansfield, with that strike ultimately helping the club secure their place in the fourth round and a meeting with Manchester United.
