Shalimar Presents $42,000 Ambulance to President Koroma

As government and its partners continue to gain grounds in the fight to eradicate the deadly Ebola virus disease, proprietor of Shalimar Trading Sierra Leone yesterday handed over a brand new ambulance worth US$42,000 to President Ernest Bai Koroma to aid the fight.

Before handing over the vehicle, Mussa Marue commended the president for his outstanding leadership role and support since the start of the outbreak in May 2014, as well as health workers in the frontline of the fight for saving the lives of over 2,000 Sierra Leoneans.

Marue told the President that the gesture was part of their own little contribution towards ending the epidemic in the country, and disclosed that they have also been rendering assistance to quarantined people in some parts of the country.

He urged other Sierra Leoneans and organizations to give their unflinching support to the Ebola fight and other developmental projects.

In his response, President Koroma, on behalf of his government and people of Sierra Leone, thanked Shalimar Trading for adhering to his call and contributing to efforts to eradicate the Ebola virus.

He assured that the ambulance would be delivered to the National Ebola Response Center (NERC).

“I appreciate your support so much,” said President Koroma and stressed that even though there is improvement in terms of the reduction in the number of positive cases that are coming out on a daily basis, the fight will only be won when there is zero new Ebola case for 42 days.
