BPP Trains Procurement Officers, Contractors on Revised Document

Abuja: The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has commenced training on its newly revised standards procurement document in the North-West and North-East zones of the country. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the understanding and effective use of the updated procurement document among stakeholders.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, this was disclosed in a statement by Zira Nagga, Head of Public Relations at BPP, in Abuja. Nagga highlighted that the training aligns with the bureau’s functions as outlined in Section 5(m) of the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2007. The revised Standard Procurement Documents are designed to provide procurement stakeholders with a clear framework for the procurement process.

Nagga further explained that the BPP, in collaboration with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) Programme, has organized a three-day physical training session. This program is scheduled to take place from May 19 to May 21 at Tahir Guest Palace in Kano, Kano State.

The training targets BPP-certified procurement officers within the procurement cadre of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), State-owned Universities, SUBEB procurement officers, as well as contractors, consultants, and service providers. The initiative seeks to ensure that all participants are well-equipped to navigate the updated procurement procedures efficiently.
