NEC Commissioner Takes Oath of Office

President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has sworn in the newly reappointed commissioner for the Northern region of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Nfah Alie Conteh to reinvigorate the commission to deliver on its mandate to the people.

President Koroma described the commission’s performance as outstanding not just in Sierra Leone but within the African continent where NEC officials have been called upon to share experiences.

“I hope that what you have done in your last term will continue and you will continue to work collaboratively with the commissioners and the Chief Electoral Commissioner – a team that you are very well familiar with,” the President said and encouraged the commission to work hard as there’s still room for progress.

President Koroma further congratulated Mr. Conteh for his well deserved appointment and called on the commission to continue with the high standards of professionalism exhibited over the years.

The newly reappointed commissioner, Nfah Alie Conteh profusely thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and the current crop of NEC commissioners.

“Indeed, your Excellency, the present crop of commissioners you now see is really as a result of your commitment to make the commission a professional one that is as against the Agenda for Change and now the Agenda for Prosperity of our beloved nation,” he said, and went on to note that the award conferred on him as Officer of the Order of Rokel as well as his reappointment as commissioner serve as a motivation not only for NEC staff but also staff of other MDAs in the country.
