Sierra Leone: Multi-Specialty Diagnostic Hospital for Sierra Leone

The Director General of Hospital International Indo Guineen Dr Sukhdev Kumar on Friday 12th August 2016 paid a courtesy call on President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma at State House.

Dr Kumar was in the country for the construction of multi-specialty diagnostic Hospital in Sierra Leone and prior to his visit donated medical equipment and supplies to government.

The president thanked Dr Kumar for the donation of medical equipment and supplies to Sierra Leone and expressed conviction that projects of this nature are in sync with the country's post Ebola recovery priorities in health.

He said the construction of a multi-specialty Hospital will also help to get specialized medical services, reduce cost of people travelling to other countries for medical services as well as bolstering training of local health practitioners.

President Koroma assured of the provision of a piece of land for the construction of the ultramodern hospital, which he said, will be a crucial step in developing the health sector.

In his statement Dr Kumar described health care as a crucial aspect of human wellbeing. He reiterated that the opening of multi-specialty specialist Hospital will now help people, who used to travel to other countries, to access such services in Sierra Leone.
