On Tuesday, Wike inaugurated the newly constructed 11-kilometre Yangoji – Sukuku – Ebo Road, marking a significant milestone for the local communities.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the communities in Kwali are among the first to benefit from newly constructed roads equipped with streetlights. Wike underscored the administration’s dedication to fulfilling promises made to the residents, urging them to be patient as further benefits from the current administration unfold. He recalled a previous stakeholders’ meeting in Kwali where the community’s needs were addressed, leading to the construction of the road.

The minister also mentioned ongoing efforts to build additional police stations in the area, with construction nearing completion. Furthermore, he committed to constructing a bridge at River Ebbo to improve connectivity between communities, responding to a request from the council’s Chairman, Mr. Danladi Chiya. Wike assured that the administration would continue to meet the needs of the people, supported by President Tinubu.

The road project, completed by Gilmor Construction Ltd, also included the renovation of Sukuku Primary School. The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, noted the broader impact of the 11km road, stressing its role in enhancing connectivity, security, and opportunities for trade and commerce, while also improving access to education and healthcare for the rural population.

He emphasized the road’s role in improving living conditions and facilitating access to markets and services for the predominantly agrarian residents of Kwali.
