We Are Now Focused On Getting to Zero – Says President Koroma

As efforts are being intensified to ending the receding Ebola virus disease, President Ernest Bai Koroma Wednesday 11 March stated that government is now focused on getting to zero new infection.

He made this statement when receiving donations to compliment efforts to ending the outbreak. As the Ebola virus ebbs, President Koroma reaffirmed government’s determination to getting to zero, adding that it is not time to lower the guard. ” It is time for everyone to remain focus and continue supporting the efforts that will initiate the recovery programme and continue the implementation of the Agenda for Prosperity.

The Sierra Leone Ambassador to Kuwait Mr Ibrahim Bakarr Kamara on behalf of Miss Waffa Islam presented Five Thousand United States Dollars ($USD5,000) cash while stating that Ten Thousand United States Dollars had been paid into the Ebola emergency account of which the latter was donated by Mohamed Sahid Islam. Ambassador Kamara also presented Ten Thousand United States Dollars on behalf of the International Islamic Charity Organization of Kuwait. President Koroma thanked and appreciated both contributors for supporting the fight against Ebola.

In a similar development, the Sierra Leone Ambassador to Ethiopia and the African Union, Mr Osman Keh Kamara presented international bankers cheque of Five Hundred and Sixty Two Thousand and Thirty Five United States Dollars to shore up support to combat the disease. President Koroma thanked Ambassador Keh Kamara for his coordinating efforts and also sensitizing the African community about the challenging moment the country faces. He also thanked the government of Botswana, Malawi and the Sierra Leonean Embassy and staff in Ethiopia for their supportive efforts.
