‘We can achieve greatness with a mindset of possibilities’ – Dr Bawumia

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said it is important that Ghanaians embrace a positive mindset, which can serve as an engine to achieving growth and success as a country.

He said the citizenry must stop focusing on limitations, which was a key characteristic of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and rather focus on possibilities, embracing innovation, creativity, and hard work to develop the country.

‘When we believe in ourselves and our abilities, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness as a country,’ Dr Bawumia said.

He said this when he addressed NPP supporters at Ayisakro near Axim in the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency of the Western Region, as part of his campaign tour of the region.

Dr Bawumia said the NPP would continue to think and initiate innovative ideas that would spur economic growth and bring prosperity to the people.

He said: ‘The NDC are myopic in ideas and always think our ingenious proposals are impossible, but we
have always proven them wrong.

‘When we wanted to introduce the Free SHS, they said it was not possible, when we were introducing drone to distribute medicines to hospitals, they said it was not possible.’

He continued: ‘The NDC kicked against One-District One-Factory. They said it was not possible, but we said it is possible and today, all these policies are working.’

The Vice President said the next NPP administration would among other things, reduce energy costs by 50 per cent through the addition of 2000 megawatts of solar power to the country’s energy generation mix.

He also promised digital skills training for one million youth, a new tax policy, and simplified passport applications using the Ghana Card.

Madam Sarah Adwoa Sarfo, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, highlighted the significance of the 2024 polls, emphasizing that the choice was between progress and stagnation.

She asked the people to vote massively for the NPP for progress, saying, ‘Elections shape the future and carry profound
implications, so let remember that a vote for the NDC is a vote for retrogression in the country.’

Madam Catherine Abelema Afeku, Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP for Evaloe-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency, stated that the NPP government had initiated numerous development projects in the area, and urged the people to retain the party in the December 7 elections to do more for them.

She mentioned the state-of-the-art sea defense wall at Axim, the construction of a Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority office complex at Ayisakro, and a digital premix fuel station at Apewosika, near Axim for the fisherfolks among others.

‘These and many more attest to the fact that the NPP government has solidified its relationship with the chiefs and people of Nzema and Axim in particular.

‘So, we need your support on December 7 to vote massively for Dr Bawumia and Catherine Afeku. We are number one on the ballot, for us to execute more development projects for the people,’ Madam Afeku said.
